I started my journey towards a change in career during covid and decided on McArthur Online as the tutor towards my AAT accounting qualifications. I completed level 2, and then on to level 3, completing both with a merit. I am now on the new Q2022 level 4, it has got ever more difficult, but Jon’s teaching style, and careful explanations mean that each topic is covered and comprehended without any stress. The beauty of online learning is you can watch each video time and time again until the penny drops! This is also a bonus when you are juggling a busy career. With tutor support at the end of an email, you are covered. I might be needing this support by the end of level 4!

I can honestly say I’m very happy with my experience with McArthur Online AAT Level 3. It is more affordable than any college course option with the same quality of the content (or better, like in my experience in comparison to my college-provided level 2 course). In this course, you still receive your books via post if you prefer to study by reading, but you also have a series of recorded video lectures by a well-spoken and knowledgeable tutor, which really does matter when it comes to explaining accounting!

The website is easy to navigate so you can literally start straight away as soon as you ordered the course without anyone’s guidance or help. The option to study from the comfort of my own home really appealed to me; you can always get back to more difficult or tricky parts of the lecture at any point by just a click of a button and the option to watch as many times as possible. It also frees faster students, like myself, from the burden of waiting for the rest of the classroom to catch up and therefore it offers the option to complete the course in a shorter period of time. I completed level 3 in 7 months, but this whole time I had the comfort of knowing that I could take much more time if I needed it. There is always the option to ask questions, but I felt the modules were well explained and I found that I never even needed to. At the end of each module, the tutor shows step by step how to correctly go through both practice assessment on the AAT website so you can check how the model answers are achieved rather than just view them.

Generally, I can definitely recommend this course and if I go on to start level 4, McArthur Online is definitely the one I will choose.

I’m so happy I have chosen McArthur Online as my training provider for accounting level 3. I was a little worried at the beginning, as I have completed my level 2 based in class years ago, and wasn’t sure if the online course can provide the same high quality service. After one month of studying, I couldn’t have been more satisfied, I got all the learning materials and online lessons which supported my study efficiently. I studied at my own pace with continued support of the tutor. I really like Jon’s videos, he explains everything very clearly and is memorable. Emma is also very supportive, they always reply to the emails very quickly even late at night or on weekends.

I had never used an online training provider so was a bit apprehensive. I needn’t have been. Emma and Jon have both been very helpful whenever I have needed advice, guidance, technical help or detailed explanations (sometimes repeatedly). After studying Foundation in Accounting AQ2016 level 2 with McArthur Online and achieved a Distinction, I carried on with level 3. Needless to say, level 3 is much harder and I found myself having more incorrect answers while taking on the mock tests. But Jon has been very patient repeatedly replying to my emails with answers and explanations until I got the key points of the correct answer. As AQ2016 was being retired there was so much pressure to pass the exams so I could move on to the next subjects.

With Emma’s supportive recommendation on the order of the assessments to sit and Jon’s tutorial support, I completed level 3 with a Distinction in time. Completing AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting around a toddler and working 5 days a week seems like a tall ask but McArthur Online Training made it so feasible. The course material is available 24/7 and the online tutorials are structured in a very manageable and practical way, with lots of examples for a better understanding of the material.
